My Fall Moody Smoky Eye

Hey ladies!  Lately, I’ve been loving this moody smoky eye.  I’ve been wearing this eye shadow color combination a ton lately and it’s perfect for Fall.  The best part is that this will be gorgeous on every eye color.  Keep reading for all of the details on how to get this look!

My favorite part of this moody vibe, is that I’m taking it back to a classic, using all MAC eyeshadows.  I remember the days when they seemed like the Godzilla of makeup stores and now there are so many incredible makeup products and companies out there.  Not only that, but these cosmetic companies have really stepped up their games with introducing amazing formulas and super pigmented shades.  However, I’ve always been a lover of all things MAC, and these eyeshadows never fail me.  The best part is that these are staple colors to have on hand for the whole year, not just Fall.  The transition and highlight shades, especially, are must haves! Here are the names starting with the left top row:

VANILLA, SOFT BROWN, CORDUROY,

MULCH, BRUN

I didn’t want to lighten these pictures because I want you to see what the shades really look like.  The photos I took of these shades is exactly what they look like in person, and the ones on the MAC website are not as accurate since they are so brightened.

I use the shade Vanilla right under my eyebrow to brighten and highlight.

I apply Soft Brown to my whole lid and a little above the brown bone since this will be my transition shade.  I also apply this to my lower lid, outer corner to the center of the eye.

Next, apply Corduroy to the outer corner of the lid and just a little right under the socket for some added drama.  Also apply to lower lid, outer corner to center of the eye.

Then, I take the Brun, which is dark and very pigmented so be careful, and apply that to the outer corners as well and right above my lash line.  If it’s a nighttime look I will also apply this under the eye as well for a more sexy look.

Lastly, I use my finger or a dry brush and apply Mulch to the upper lid, inner eye up until the center for some sparkle.  For a more dramatic effect and added sparkle, use fix plus or a setting spray (this one is my favorite) on your brush and then apply the Mulch.

This look is actually very simple and if you need to blend it out more afterward, you can always apply more Soft Brown in the crease and use that to blend the colors.  You can never blend too much, remember, no harsh lines!  I apply this look super messy and not precise when I’m in a rush and just spend an extra moment blending and it’s so easy to adjust!  I hope you love this look!

Love Always,

Kimberly
