Happy Wednesday ladies, I hope you’re all having an easy breezy week. We made it half way through, so hang on just a little longer! I’m going to jump right in because I love to talk skincare! I’m super excited to share the products that I use daily to brighten and even out my skin tone. As I’ve mentioned before, I love the sun and being outdoors and I didn’t always use an SPF on my face. Years of consistent sun exposure with no protection equals lots of brown spots! I’ve had a few larger spots lasered off, which was terribly painful and the recovery took a few weeks. I was left with very noticeable bruises and swelling all over my face. I was happy with the results but I couldn’t laser every spot away.
Over the years, I have found some amazing creams and moisturizers that I use daily to brighten my under eyes and even out my skin tone. The best part is that these are pain free. I hope these tips and tricks will help keep you from having to undergo the laser treatment too!
Lightening Regimen-
This is the first step I do immediately after my shower. I always begin with a spritz of Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel. This spray feels so fresh and the smell is lovely. This preps my skin for all of the lotions and potions that will follow. I use this at night as well, but I switch to the lavender scent.
Next, one of my favorite products ever is Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. This contains a natural extract of grapevine sap that lightens and evens your skin tone. I love that this product also makes my skin feels so soft. I apply this morning and night after cleansing my face. The moment it’s gone, I restock it immediately because I swear by it!
For my dark undereyes, I apply Ole Henrikson’s Banana Bright Eye Cream. A little goes a long way and a jar lasts for several months. I just dab some on my fingers and pat into my undereye area.
To moisturize and brighten my face and neck, I use Ole Henriksen’s Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer. However, I have had microblading on my eyebrows so I avoid the eyebrow area, as I wouldn’t want to lighten or discolor them.
After washing my face at night, I apply this incredible SkinMedica Pigment Correcting Serum that was recommended by my dermatologist. I use a pump and gently rub it into my face and neck, while avoiding the permanent makeup areas. You can use this product twice a day but since I use plenty of other creams in the morning, I like to use this one just at night.
Helpful Skincare Tips-
- Use an SPF daily. Check out my previous post on How to Add Sun Protection to Your Daily Routine. Here, I explain step by step which SPF products I use and how I apply them. I cannot stress the importance of preventative skincare.
- Trying to prevent acne? Apply all of your face creams BEFORE you touch your phone. Don’t step out of the shower, grab your phone to check it and then begin touching your face. Your cell phone has so much bacteria on it, so it’s always better to wash your hands before rubbing creams into your skin. On that note, since we hold our phones up to our face daily, remember to sanitize it before bed to decrease the risk of developing acne on that side of your face. Try not to touch your face throughout the day unless your have clean hands.
Love Always, Kimberly
