Hey girls, I missed you this Wednesday! Mike and I took off to Vegas for our 6 year anniversary, so I took the day off from posting. We had such a great time and saw Celine Dion for her farewell tour from Vegas. It’s been a dream of mine to see her since I was a little girl and I don’t know what came over me, but when she walked out and began singing I started to cry! All of a sudden she became a real, tangible person to me and I was beyond thrilled. I didn’t know it was possible but she is every bit as good in person as she is on the radio… if not, better! Unbelievable.
Taking this trip got me thinking about all of the beauty products that I can’t travel without. I’ll save my actual makeup bag for another day, because Lord knows I love talking about makeup! I’ve rounded up my current top travel products to share with you.
HAIR
This hair brush is an awesome travel product because it’s actually a diversion safe! You simply twist off the small cap on top and you can store your valuables inside to protect them from being stolen. A must have while traveling. When you’re in your room you can always use the safe, but if there isn’t a safe or you are out on the beach or something, you can just throw this brush in your bag. No one would ever think twice. To be honest, this has actually become one of my favorite brushes now and I use it daily!
I use the Slipsilk scrunchies all the time. I sleep with them or use them to hold my hair out of my face while washing my face. They never rip out your hair and they don’t leave creases either!
My hair is very fine wavy, so once I squeeze the water out and lightly towel dry it, I always use this Bumble and bumble Don’t Blow it Fine (H)air Styler. It keeps my hair from drying so wild and keeps it much straighter and more manageable. I use this everyday by working a dime size amount through my hair and then blow-dry as usual with this round brush above. If I leave for a trip and forget to bring this I get so upset! It makes a huge difference for me and doesn’t even feel like I have any product in my hair.
This Cricket Friction Free Flat Iron is a life saver! It’s so small and fits perfectly into my bag with room to spare. I like this flatiron so much because it’s very small and therefore can get super close to your scalp. Whether I’m on the go or at home, this is my go to flatiron. It’s also on sale right now for under $20!
Once my hair is blowdried and straightened, I work a small drop of this Moroccanoil through my hair. It smooths and softens my hair and leaves it feeling so silky! It smells incredible too. If you haven’t tried this I would totally recommend it for all hair types.
Oaui Texturizing Hair Spray is one of my favorite hair products, especially since I have fine hair. It gives my hair volume I didn’t know it could have. Since this is a hairspray and texturizer, it kills two birds with one stone. I’m a huge fan!
BEAUTY PRODUCTS
My ride or die makeup palette of all time is this Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette. The array of colors is so impressive and the quality of the shadows is incredible. Every time I go on a trip I take this with me because I can achieve any look with this one palette. I even use the dark brown in to fill in my hairline! SHHHHH! I will buy this on repeat for as long as its available. The best part is the price. It has 35 colors for only $38! I don’t know what I did before I found this!
Who knew it could be so hard to find the perfect eyelash curler? After years of searching for one that curled but didn’t crease my lashes, I finally found this Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler. All the others are in the trash now. I could NOT do my makeup without this curler, so of course I had to add it on my list of must have travel beauty products!
Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette is heavenly! I use shade fair/medium. The application of this bronzer is just so smooth and dreamy. It has the slightest shimmer but it’s such a delicate shimmer that you NEVER look muddy or patchy. It simply gives you a healthy glow. I’ve mentioned it before in this post on How to Achieve the Glow From Within. The highlighter is heavenly! I’ve used so many highlighters but this one gives you an angelic sheen that’s unlike anything else I’ve tried. You bet it’s coming with me on vacation!
Versace Bright Crystal is another favorite I’ve mentioned before in this previous post on the Top 5 Most Romantic Scents. I fell in love with this scent when I was at a sticky, sweaty, kid’s birthday party on a hot summer day. Suddenly, something smelled fresh and clean so I tracked down that scent like a hound! I asked what it was and have used it ever since. This perfume always gets compliments! It gives me a boost when I smell it throughout the day, especially on hot summer days!
The Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint in Bare Raspberry is the only lip product I brought with us on this last trip and I was totally happy. It gives your lips a healthy pink shine and isn’t sticky at all. It’s my favorite lipstick/lip balm combination I’ve found!
PERSONAL & HYGIENE
I have the immune system of a newborn baby so I have always drank Emergen-C, until recently I found they make Emergen-C gummies. Umm, yes please! The raspberry flavor is so good. They’re so delicious that I actually look forward to the morning time so I can eat some more! These come with me everywhere so I can stay as healthy as possible, and I’m on board for any vitamins that taste like candy.
My skin is very sensitive and the only makeup remover wipes that don’t give me a rash are the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes. You can buy them in individuals here, or a larger pack here. I personally love anything that comes in a tiny little package so you can just throw it in your bag on the go, so I’m partial to the mini individual pack.
The lint roller is one of the most important products on this whole list. Lint/dog hair that follows me around on my clothes is a pet peeve of mine. Therefore, I keep a travel size roller in my car and a larger roller comes with me on vacation just so I don’t run out. LOL!
OK, let’s get personal. These Summer’s Eve wipes are with me everywhere I go. These smell so lovely and keep me feeling totally fresh and clean no matter where I am or what I’m doing. Even if I’m just going out for the night I take these with me to ensure that I always feel my best!
Poo-Pourri anyone? I’m going to keep things honest here, that’s why I chose Kandidly Kim as my name. I try to stay candid and open about things with other women. There’s nothing more dreadful than having to go to the restroom while you’re out, or even worse, at a friend’s house. I swear this Poo-Pourri has knocked that embarrassment down quite a few notches. If you spray it in the toilet bowl before you go, the room just smells like lavender, or whatever scent you choose. Enough said, this is a travel staple!
Lastly, and certainly not least, this Tongue Scraper by Dr. Tung, has changed my life. Well, maybe not my life, but certainly my breath. I have never had such fresh breath as I do now that I use this every time I brush. After you brush your teeth and tongue, you gently scrape your tongue with this a few times. Not only is my breath instantly fresher, but it’s even more fresh now in the mornings when I wake up and throughout the day. I can’t believe how long I lived without this!
