Playroom Makeover!

Well hello there!  I hope you all had an easy breezy week!  TGIF, right?!  Life has been so fast paced lately and my family has been pulled in so many different directions with sports, work and other obligations.  I’m looking forward to the weekend so I can relax and spend some quality time with them.  Quality time with the kids usually means we end up in the art room and do play dough, drawing or painting.  Now that we painted and redecorated the whole room we really enjoy spending time in there!  Our home is our sanctuary so it’s important to make it your own to feel comfortable and at ease.

I know I usually stick to fashion and beauty, but I LOVE decorating and remodeling our home and I love sharing that with others.  It gets me so excited!  I’ve added some fun items that we used to give this room a major makeover.

We added a black wall and some pops of color to make them stand out.  The dark paint is ‘Soot’ by Benjamin Moore.  It’s also the color we used when refinishing some of our kitchen cabinets.  It’s the perfect blend of charcoal grey and black with an ever so light navy tone.

This pottery barn table is a lot of fun for all of us.  I chose this one because you can attach a paper roll that spreads out across the table.  The kids love to color on it and I find myself doodling on it on a regular basis.  It’s also great for food projects, such as making gingerbread houses since you can simply crumple up the paper, dispose of it, and start fresh.

Benjamin’s favorite decoration in the whole room is this darn tiger.   I absolutely love how realistic it looks and he loves to pretend to ride it.  The only problem is that the kids move it from room to room and I’ve had about 100 heart attacks from being startled by it!  LOL!

Let’s talk about this easel!  One side is dry erase and the other has a chalk board.  It also has a paper roll so you can paint on it too.  It’s so fun and gets a ton of use.

The canvas pictures on the wall are not drawings.  They’re actually real photos turned into a canvas and I think they steal the show.   They add a touch of playfulness and whimsy that I adore.

The brass peace sign pops perfectly on the dark wall and the price is right!

Look below to see all of the adorable items I’ve included to help you achieve this look!  Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back with you Monday!  As always, thanks for following along.  XO -Kimberly
